What does Ecolint mean to you?
Ecolint is to me the most unique school in the world. It is the reason we moved to Geneva and what motivates me to apply to the board. Firstly it represents everything that I believe we should strive for: empathy, openness, understanding and wholesomeness. Especially in today's world where globalisation is being relegated as irrelevant, it is the proof that multiculturalism plays an important role in education and peace. Secondly it is an excellent institution that has the self confidence to not only promote educational excellence but also latitude in thought and balance to form wonderful individuals at the end of the IB. Lastly it is a beacon of international education through the role it plays globally through the program it forges and manages.
What skills/expertise would you bring to the Governing Board?
- Governance
- Fundraising
- Financial management and oversight
- Use of technology and data as a mean to drive transformational change
How would you support the mission of the Foundation if you are elected to the Governing Board? Emphasizing the skills/expertise that were highlighted in the previous question, and other leadership and soft skills you would bring to the Board.
I am an experienced board member who understands the importance of focus and action. Too often boards are cluttered with useless or disparate ideas that do not get implemented. Also I strongly believe that the administration in place and the very capable management team and faculty we benefit from are the vectors of change. The board should be there to enable them to enact their vision even if the projects involve long term or financial commitments. Enabling the foundation to augment it's capital base and financial management would be a focus to enable more ideas to take shape and be enacted in time. Finally looking at my other board positions I tend to be a good mediator to opposing views and help the group to get to consensus.
