TEACHER OF BTEC BUSINESS AND CP COORDINATOR
Full-time - 20 periods of teaching - 4 periods of décharge.

- Teacher of BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council) Level 3 Business Studies
Responsibilities of the successful candidate:
- Teach the Level 3 Pearson International BTEC in Business Studies in line with departmental schemes of work to Year 12 and 13.
- Show the ability to work well with colleagues on the development, delivery and documentation of courses, teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching, assessment and pastoral arrangements appropriate to the delivery of Business Studies is essential.
- Keep abreast of curriculum developments affecting the department and be prepared to discuss matters affecting the curriculum as a whole.
- It is important for the successful candidate to have a holistic approach to education with a willingness to take an active role in the pastoral care of students.
- Able to conduct differentiation working with students who have divergent learning profiles
- A willingness to take an active role in activities outside the teaching of the academic course would also be an advantage.
- The possibility of teaching a second subject could be a distinct advantage.
In terms of Coordination, the post requires :
- To promote the CP to the foundation and outside of the foundation and actively help the community understand the strengths of the programme, and its ability to help students have future success.
- To administer the BTEC programmes, act as quality nominee to Pearson and ensure programme compliance
- To oversee the CP core- in particular the implementation of the PPS course and completion of Language development.
- To help with the option choices of year 11 students with the assistant principals of 11 and 12 and deal with new students with regards to CP option choices.
- The successful candidate will work in close conjunction with the DP coordinator and HOY of 12 and 13, as well as the wider pastoral team supporting 12 and 13.
Personal Requirements:
- A university degree with a focus on Business / Economics.
- A teaching certificate and a proven track record of innovative and excellent teaching.
- The candidate should have a strong background in differentiated instruction.
- The candidate should be fluent in English.
- Experience teaching BTEC at this level will be a distinct advantage.
- Good ICT competence (for example Google Educator Level 1)
- Have high expectations of student achievement and behaviour.
- Experience of the CP
- Knowledge of French or the willingness to learn French is an advantage (B1 level desired)
