La Grande Boissière (LGB) campus is centrally located in Geneva and blends a mix of 18th Century buildings with cutting edge STEM and Arts facilities. The bilingual (French and English) campus is home to close to 1,900 students across the Primary, Middle and Secondary Schools. Our unique Universal Learning Programme, co-designed with UNESCO’s International Bureau of Education, seeks to anchor learning in deep conceptual understanding and the assessment of Ecolint’s global competences, to ensure that the outcome of learning makes some positive social impact.
La Grande Boissière (Primary)
Early Years Educator - PED 3 Level for our Pre-Reception classes
Full-time - 25 hours
Responsibilities :
- This role is essential in ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
- The Early Years Educator supports teachers in delivering high-quality education by assisting with classroom management, student supervision, and individualized learning support. He/she works closely with students to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Support the teachers in Planning activities for the children.
- Collaborate with the teacher and year level team to support all learning activities.
- Actively promote the French and/or English language as required by the school throughout the educational program.
- Assist the teacher in implementing learning and educational activities.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students, reinforcing concepts and skills.
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with behavioral challenges.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, outdoor activities, transitions and all other activities.
- Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and maintaining a safe and engaging learning space.
- Support outdoor learning and plan for outdoor and forest school learning.
- Implement strategies as directed by the teacher or special education team to support student learning and well-being.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
- Support students in developing independence, social skills, and positive behaviors.
- Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and parents as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and procedures.
Personal Requirements:
- Qualifications and/or experience in Education is preferred, as well as 3 to 6 years of experience working with early age students.
- A diploma or certificate in Educational Assistance, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
- Experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
- Knowledge of child development and classroom management strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting student growth.
- A valid background check as required by school policies.
- Ability to work collaboratively and under the direction of the classroom teacher and the whole team.
- French language is a requirement as well as good proficiency in English.
- Skills in technology using different platforms needed in a classroom.
