Why an Ecolint Learner Passport?
- To capture learning wherever it has happened.
- To allow students to celebrate and demonstrate achievement, in and out of the classroom.
- To represent the whole person.
- To give universities or industries more information on a student through the student's competence profile.
- For students to have agency over the representation of their learning journey.
How does the Ecolint Learner Passport work?
- The Ecolint learner passport is an interactive online platform that allows for students to curate their own learning.
- Year 10 to Year 13 Mentors help students log their achievement. Mentors are an important part of the process.
- A Foundation team has designed the system that assigns levels of mastery in competences so it is easy to use: level 1 (passing), level 2 (good), level 3 (excellent).
- While working on their Learner Passport over several years, students can see how their individual competence profile evolves over time. The more data is added into the Ecolint Learner Passport, the more precise the student competence profile is.
- All Ecolint students graduate with an Ecolint Learner Passport.
In a few words, the Ecolint Learner Passport...
... is holistics and inclusive
The Ecolint Learner Passport shines the light on all forms of learning, not only on academic performance.
... helps build capacity and courage
By recognising learning wherever it happens, students are encouraged to try new activities and to delve into new domains. The levels of achievement is then measured based on student's involvement, dedication and results.
... is reflective
Through the individual competence profile, the Ecolint Learner Passport provides students with a different perspective of their learning journey and a deeper understanding of who they are as a person.
