Learner Passport

Ecolint is committed in supporting young people develop the competences required to flourish. The Ecolint Learner Passport has been created in 2021 as a way for students to show what they have achieved and present their competences to universities and employers.

The Ecolint Learner Passport is a record of achievement capturing learning in a holistic manner during the last 4 years of school through academics and extracurricular activities in line with the 7 UNESCO-IBE competences.

UNESCO-IBE 7 Global Competences

1

Knowing how to learn affords people the regenerative capacity to reinvent themselves for changing contextual demands.
2

Self-agency

Self-agency is about confidence and facility to face the known and the unknown, and to emerge accomplished and fulfilled.
3

Interacting with others

It is a key competence for social interaction, social cohesion, harmony, justice, and ultimately a peaceful and reconciled future.
4

Interacting with the world

This enables people to be local and global. It enables awareness, sensitivity, and advocacy for collective challenges and opportunities at various levels.
5

Interactively using diverse tools and resources

Increasing complexity also demands effective, efficient, and interactive use of a range of tools and resources relevant for the task at hand.
6

Multi-literateness

The 21st century requires people to be multi-literates and to flexibly deploy these literacies.
7

Trans-disciplinarity

Increasing complexity requires ever more sophisticated solutions that integrate knowledge from multiple disciplines and from domains of knowledge.

Why an Ecolint Learner Passport?

  • To capture learning wherever it has happened.
  • To allow students to celebrate and demonstrate achievement, in and out of the classroom.
  • To represent the whole person.
  • To give universities or industries more information on a student through the student's competence profile.
  • For students to have agency over the representation of their learning journey.
Mentor helping a student

How does the Ecolint Learner Passport work?

  • The Ecolint learner passport is an interactive online platform that allows for students to curate their own learning.
  • Year 10 to Year 13 Mentors help students log their achievement. Mentors are an important part of the process.
  • A Foundation team has designed the system that assigns levels of mastery in competences so it is easy to use: level 1 (passing), level 2 (good), level 3 (excellent).
  • While working on their Learner Passport over several years, students can see how their individual competence profile evolves over time. The more data is added into the Ecolint Learner Passport, the more precise the student competence profile is.
  • All Ecolint students graduate with an Ecolint Learner Passport.

In a few words, the Ecolint Learner Passport...

... is holistics and inclusive

The Ecolint Learner Passport shines the light on all forms of learning, not only on academic performance.

... helps build capacity and courage

By recognising learning wherever it happens, students are encouraged to try new activities and to delve into new domains. The levels of achievement is then measured based on student's involvement, dedication and results.

... is reflective

Through the individual competence profile, the Ecolint Learner Passport provides students with a different perspective of their learning journey and a deeper understanding of who they are as a person.
