La Grande Boissière (LGB) campus is centrally located in Geneva and blends a mix of 18th Century buildings with cutting edge STEM and Arts facilities. The bilingual (French and English) campus is home to close to 1,900 students across the Primary, Middle and Secondary Schools. Classroom Assistant – Middle School (English-Language Programme - Year 5 or 6 classes)
Full-time – 25 Hour(s)
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Classroom Assistant to join our Middle School team in the English-speaking program. The successful candidate will work closely with the Year 5 or 6 class teachers to provide support in delivering a high-quality, inclusive, and engaging learning experience for students.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in preparing and implementing lesson plans and activities.
- Support students with their learning, ensuring that they are engaged and actively participating in class.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as needed, especially for those with additional learning needs.
- Help to maintain a positive and well-organized classroom environment.
- Assist with classroom administrative tasks such as organizing materials, setting up displays, and preparing learning resources.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized learning plans for students.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other staff members regarding students’ progress and well-being.
- Support the integration of educational technology and digital tools into daily lessons.
Personal requirements:
- A passion for working with children and supporting their development in an international school setting.
- A minimum of a high school diploma; a relevant teaching assistant qualification or equivalent is an advantage.
- Previous experience working with children in a school environment, preferably with students of middle school age.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- A proactive, organized, and flexible approach to work.
