Founded in 1924, the Ecole Internationale de Genève (Ecolint) welcomes 4,500 students aged 3 to 18, representing more than 130 nationalities. La Grande Boissière (LGB) campus is centrally located in Geneva and blends a mix of 18th Century buildings with cutting edge STEM and Arts facilities. The bilingual (French and English) campus is home to close to 1,900 students across the Primary, Middle and Secondary Schools. Our unique Universal Learning Programme, co-designed with UNESCO’s International Bureau of Education, seeks to anchor learning in deep conceptual understanding and the assessment of Ecolint’s global competences, to ensure that the outcome of learning makes some positive social impact.

Teacher of English Language & Literature  

Full-time - 24 periods 

 

Responsibilities :

 

  • Teaching English, principally as a first language, to 13-18 year olds, including the IB Diploma Programme for English A
  • To regularly assess the progress of students and record and report those results to parents
  • To ensure curriculum entitlement and progression is achieved for all students
  • To collaborate closely with colleagues in the department to develop the teaching and examination resources in the department and contribute to curriculum enrichment
     

Personal Requirements:

  • Experience of teaching English Literature/Language & Literature for the IB Diploma Programme or equivalent
    Knowledge of studies in English Language and Literature for the IB Diploma Programme
  • A recognised secondary school English teaching qualification at graduate or postgraduate level
  • Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in English studies would be an advantage
  • Fluent English speaker; working knowledge of French would be an advantage
  • A passion for teaching and learning with a drive to achieve the highest possible standards
  • A genuine interest in students, with a caring sensitive attitude towards them and to cultural variance
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good ICT skills and a knowledge of their effective use to support pedagogy
  • Commitment to self-reflection and professional development
