La Châtaigneraie Campus is located in the hamlet of Châtaigneriaz overlooking the village of Founex and Lake Geneva, not far from Geneva. With a mix of old and new buildings, the campus is divided into a primary school and a secondary school, with a total of approximately 1,600 students. MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN / GARDENER / LANDSCAPER

Position to be filled from January 1, 2025 for a permanent contract.
Full-time – 40 hours / 47 weeks.

 

Responsibilities of the successful candidate:

  • Maintenance and upkeep of green spaces and other useful areas of the campus (mowing, blowing, watering, pruning, etc.) with a view to sustainability and with environmentally friendly practices.
  • Maintenance of parks / gardens, small forests, tree pruning, trimming of hedges and shrubs, pruning work at heights < 5m.
  • Management and maintenance of the various flower beds planted in open ground and in containers (planting, watering, pruning), including the creation and development of green spaces.
  • Blowing and brushing of synthetic sports fields.
  • Management of materials, tools, equipment and consumables related to the maintenance of green spaces. Carry out inventories.
  • Manage the gardening workshop.
  • Building maintenance (minor maintenance and handling, etc.).
  • Participate in the logistical set-up of campus events (seminars, assemblies, fairs, etc.). 
  • Participate in safety in the parking lots (traffic management, parking).
  • Meet the needs of employees by processing work requests.
  • Ensure the disposal of products and materials according to the guidelines and tools set up for recycling.
  • Actively participate in the execution of alert procedures, evacuation in the event of fire, confinement, bomb threat, etc. 
  • Participate in snow removal on the campus even outside of normal working hours.

 

Personal Requirements:

  • CFC in landscape gardening or operations agent or 2 to 3 years of professional experience in the management of green spaces deemed equivalent 
  • Several years of experience in a similar position desired 
  • Basic masonry skills would be appreciated 
  • BE license, platform license, and forklift license an asset
  • Chainsaw training an asset 
  • Native French speaker, English is a plus 
  • Good demeanor, presentation and interpersonal skills 
  • Versatility, good team spirit is essential
  • Dynamism and pragmatism are essential with a sense of responsibility and service 
  • Strict compliance with workplace safety rules 
  • Knowledge of IT tools (MS office, Google tools)
